RIMINI - PIETRACUTA - SAN LEO - PONTE USO - RIMINI
The rock spur where the Fort of San Leo has perched since antiquity frames the challenging ascent that leads from the valley of the Marecchia River for 583 metres across the ancient lands where Dante Alighieri stayed and where Saint Francis of Assisi received the Monte di Verna as a gift, which is now the seat of the important Monastery.
Here, too, we meet various stretches of the Nove Colli long-distance road cycling route, from the steep descent of San Leo to the gentle ascent of the Passo delle Siepe, or Grillo, which takes us back to the valley of the Uso River all the way to the sea.
